The CGP Awards program recognizes those whose work has impacted the organization and the field of charitable gift planning in substantive ways. Nominations for the 2024 CGP Hall of Fame, Rising Star Award, Distinguished Service Award and Council of the Year Award will open in June 2024. Recipients are honored on an annual basis at CGP Conference.

CGP Hall of Fame

The Hall of Fame is CGP’s highest honor. It recognizes those whose life's work has impacted charitable gift planning in significant and meaningful ways, advancing the mission of CGP and bringing credit to all the professions engaged in charitable planning. The Hall of Fame will be permanently memorialized on the CGP website and recognized in associated media outlets. 

SELECTION CRITERIA

These criteria include but are not limited to:          

  • Significant and positive impact on the field of charitable gift planning.

  • Service to and support of the field for a minimum of 10 years.
  • Accomplishments deserve wide recognition as an outstanding influencer in the work of charitable gift planning. 
  • CGP membership is not required.

RECOGNITION               

Each year, individuals are recognized and inducted into the CGP Hall of Fame at National Conference. Hall of Fame inductees receive lifetime membership in CGP, honorary membership in the Leadership Institute, and complimentary registration to conference in the year of the award.

CGP Rising Star Award

The CGP Rising Star Award recognizes the talent and potential of a newcomer to the field of charitable gift planning, whether as a practitioner, advisor, consultant or other.  Understanding that the work of charitable gift planning is ever-changing and expanding this award encourages recipients to consider a lifelong pursuit of the field and continue active membership in their local councils and national association.

SELECTION CRITERIA 

These criteria include but are not limited to:          

  • Demonstrated success in the field of charitable gift planning.
  • Demonstrates initiative, innovation, leadership and contribution to the charitable gift planning field locally.
  • Shown steady career advancement, a commitment to ongoing professional development, recognition and respect from coworkers and colleagues as an emerging leader, and engagement with local and/or national professional organizations.
  • Service to and support of the field of gift planning for more than 3 but less than 10 years of experience in the field.
  • 40 years old or younger preferred.
  • CGP membership is required. Active involvement in a CGP Council is preferred.

RECOGNITION                  

Recipients of the CGP Rising Star Award are recognized at the National Conference. Awardees receive a complimentary registration to the conference in the year of selection. Recipients will also be recognized on the CGP website and associated media outlets.

CGP Distinguished Service Award

The CGP Distinguished Service Award recognizes an individual, project team or CGP partners that have shown outstanding dedication to the charitable gift planning profession or field through a special project or effort. Examples of distinguished service projects or efforts include initiation of a significant project that furthers CGP’s mission and brings value to its membership. Results of these efforts serve as a standard for other projects or programs and have lasting value and long-term impact upon the charitable gift planning profession.

Recognition

The CGP Distinguished Service Award will be presented on an as-merited basis. Recipients of the CGP Distinguished Service Award are recognized at the National Conference. Awardees receive a complimentary registration to the conference in the year of selection. Recipients will also be recognized on the CGP website and associated media outlets.

CGP Council of the Year Award

The CGP Council of the Year Award recognizes a council that demonstrates significant achievement in the preceding year. This award celebrates innovative programming, special events, membership growth, community impact and other areas of contribution to the charitable gift planning field.  

SELECTION CRITERIa

These criteria include but are not limited to:          

  • Is an active council or chapter affiliated with CGP.
  • Demonstrated a unique or successful council program. 
  • Increased council member benefits. 
  • Experienced council membership growth through recruitment/renewal initiatives. 
  • Overcame a significant challenge. 

Recognition

Awardee councils will be recognized at the National Conference in the year of selection. Awardee councils will also be recognized on the CGP website and through associated media outlets.
