Indianapolis, IN – The National Association of Charitable Gift Planners (CGP) is excited to announce the launch of the CGP Mentor Program. The program is designed to develop relationships between experienced professionals and those early in their gift planning career seeking to learn and enhance skills that will help further their career.
 
Mentors and mentees will be expected to meet once a month, with a one-year commitment starting October 2022. There will also be several educational presentations throughout the year for the entire cohort of mentees.


For potential mentees, this is a great opportunity for you to take your career to the next level, by connecting with a mentor who can offer insights and help you navigate your professional development. Mentees should:

• have 2-5 years of gift planning experience (in which gift planning is at least 25 percent of job responsibilities)
• be a current member of CGP

Individuals interested in participating as a mentee may learn more and submit an application.
 

For potential mentors, this is an opportunity to give back, share your expertise and refine your own skills. Mentors, should:

• have at least 10 years of planned giving experience (in which gift planning is at least 25 percent of job responsibilities)
• be currently engaged in planned giving at least 50 percent of the time
• be a member of CGP for at least three of the last five years

Individuals who meet the above criteria and are interested in serving as a mentor may learn more and submit an application.
 

Mentor/mentee matches will be made based on several factors including goals and experience. Prior to matching, both prospective mentors and mentees will be interviewed in order to help the committee match pairs. Selected participants will be notified in October, and the program will kick off with an opportunity for mentors and mentees to meet at CGP Conference.
