Indianapolis, IN -- The National Association of Charitable Gift Planners (CGP) is pleased to announce its 2023 class of Board of Directors. Six members were elected to the board to serve three-year terms beginning January 2023. The members were elected at the Assembly of Delegates held June 14, 2022, virtually.

Mike Bell

Mike Bell has held leadership positions in the field of philanthropy for more than thirty years.  Currently, Mike is Executive Director of Davis Health System Foundation in Elkins, West Virginia. He also serves as health system director for volunteer services and pastoral care.  Prior to joining DHS, Mike served as Executive Director of Suncoast Hospice Foundation in Clearwater, Florida, and Vice President for Community Development at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee.  He holds a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee, and a Master of Education in Institutional Advancement from Vanderbilt University.  Mike also serves as an adjunct professor of nonprofit leadership at Davis & Elkins College and is the Board President of the Randolph County Housing Authority and immediate past President of Charitable Gift Planners of West Virginia.  

Aquanetta Betts, J.D., CAP®, AEP®, CFRE

Aquanetta Betts, J.D., CAP®, AEP®, CFRE is the Senior Executive Director of Planned Giving for World Vision for the eastern region of the U.S. She was drawn by the opportunity to join a global Christian humanitarian organization that partners with children, families, and their communities to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. 

Prior to joining World Vision, Aquanetta worked for 11 years as an estate planning attorney, helping clients draft planned giving and estate agreements that reflected their charitable intent. Her practice was focused on wills, trusts, and estates. She is a licensed attorney in the District of Columbia and Maryland.

Patience Boudreaux, CSPG, CFRE

Loma Linda University Health

Patience Boudreaux is a Planned Giving Officer at Loma Linda University Health, a role which allows her to manage a portfolio of planned giving donors as well as support major gifts officers in their prospect management for planned gifts. She also co-leads the campaign operations task force to help review and improve systems and processes to set philanthropy up for success leading into the next campaign. Prior to Loma Linda, her career has been focused on higher education, particularly private liberal arts institutions. Patience earned her BA at Johns Hopkins University, her MBA from the Drucker School at Claremont Graduate University, and is a Certified Specialist in Planned Giving and Certified Fund Raising Executive.

Matthew K. Treadwell, J.D.

Charitable Gift Planners, Indiana

Matthew K. Treadwell, JD, currently serves the Indiana University Foundation as a Planned Giving Attorney. In his role, Matthew coordinates philanthropic goals with donors’ financial advisor and attorneys, manages all planned giving marketing efforts, and advises fundraisers at all of IU’s campuses. He also serves as adjunct faculty for The Fund Raising School at IUPUI teaching “Planned Giving: Getting The Proper Start.” Before joining the Indiana University Foundation in 2019, Matthew served as a Planned Giving Officer for the National FFA Foundation. He earned his Juris Doctorate from University of Notre Dame Law School and his Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University. Matthew currently serves as the Chairperson of the Notre Dame Lawyers Committee. He also serves on the CGP Conference committee and as the President of Charitable Gift Planners, Indiana.

Mark A. Vergenes is President of MIRUS Financial Partners. Having entered the financial services industry in 1995, Mark has built a clientele that consists of individuals, families, non-profits and business owners. His practice focuses on the advantages of asset management and “wrap fee” programs through Cetera Advisor Networks LLC. Knowledge and experience play key roles in helping Mark’s clients more effectively work toward their financial goals.

A longtime resident of Lancaster, PA, Mark is active in the community including serving on the Planned Giving Committees of the Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) Foundation and the Lancaster General Hospital Foundation – Penn Medicine. He also serves as President of the Pennsylvania Parking Association and on the board of the Lancaster City Revitalization & Improvement Zone. Mark is the Immediate Past President of Susquehanna Valley Council of Charitable Gift Planners. 

Ericka L. Webb

Planned Giving Group of New England (PGGNE)

Ericka L. Webb is Executive Director of Gift Planning for Boston College. She oversees all aspects of the gift planning program and works closely with donors, their advisors, staff, leadership to increase philanthropic support to Boston College through planned gifts. She was Director of Gift Planning and Endowment for the WGBH Educational Foundation for more than four years. Prior to joining WGBH, Ericka worked in the gift planning offices at both Harvard University and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. 

Ericka earned her bachelor’s degree in international relations from American University and a master’s in education from Harvard University. She served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Chad, Africa, where she worked on community health education and other initiatives. She is on the board of the Hibel Family Foundation Planned Giving Initiative and is a past president of the Planned Giving Group of New England (PGGNE).
